“The resilience and effort of CareerSource Brevard’s employees cannot be underestimated. Our team of professionals were available to fully support Brevard’s job seekers and businesses, while at the same time, navigating the ever-changing workforce economy that accompanied this year due to the impacts of the continuing pandemic."

Collaborate. Innovate. Lead.
In my third and final year presenting the CareerSource Brevard annual report, I look back in awe at the long and unpredictable road we travelled while building a stronger workforce and helping to strengthen Brevard’s economy.

We stepped into the year with a steadily shrinking workforce and an unprecedented low unemployment rate, adding to the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on our businesses and jobseekers.

Nevertheless, CareerSource Brevard succeeded in delivering critical workforce services to a community in need.

Two of many successes you’ll uncover in this report include:
It fills me with tremendous pride to be a part of these outcomes and I look forward to the solutions in store for the challenges ahead.

To the CareerSource Brevard team, industry and community partners, and others who have consistently shared our mission, and on behalf of our talented and dedicated Board, I thank you. Your unwavering support and collaboration was integral to the outcomes and successes presented here.

Finally, as you view the report, I invite you to ask questions and learn more about what we do, and how we can serve the community together.

When the COVID pandemic lockdown started in March 2020, my office was struggling with remote testing for applicants who applied for our jobs –  unfortunately, applicants needed to use the same Microsoft software version I used to test them. This was a huge hindrance. I knew CareerSource Brevard offered applicant testing, so I reached out to our business liaison who made what I thought would be a difficult process so much easier. I cannot express how grateful I am!

I am so happy and excited to tell you I've been offered to on-board for a position with Health First! The AARP Foundation Back to Work 50+program gave me the courage and tools to “get back out there.” My career counselor provided me with opportunities to practice virtual meetings, attend career fairs, and use new technology. I am grateful to all the staff who worked with me.
